Overview

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a US Tax Lead for their client, a growing manufacturer. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of the Group's US income tax provision, manage interactions with tax authorities, and collaborate on various tax-related projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of the Group's US income tax provision for financial reporting purposes
  • Compile and review the calculation of the effective US income tax rate
  • Compute and coordinate remittance of estimated income tax payments and final tax payments at various levels
  • Coordinate and track data for US income tax returns preparation
  • Develop quarterly transfer pricing adjustment recommendations
  • Assist with management of indirect tax processes
  • Manage correspondence and interactions with tax authorities
  • Co-lead the income tax audit process
  • Collaborate in operational planning to identify tax withholding and liability issues
  • Research and communicate trends in US federal and state income tax
  • Manage accumulated earnings with focus on dividend recommendations
  • Work with the CFO on special projects for North American tax planning
  • Manage external service providers related to US income tax matters

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, Business or Finance
  • CPA professional accounting designation
  • 5-7 years of US income tax experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS principles
  • Experience in preparing financial statement notes relating to income taxes
  • Working knowledge of US tax research tools and tax software
  • Experience advising on complex US corporate income tax issues
