Job Description

Overview

A healthcare organization in Rutland is seeking a Urology Physician Assistant to join a collaborative care team. This role involves working closely with physicians to deliver high-quality care for patients with various urologic conditions in outpatient and clinical settings.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations
  • Assist in diagnosing and managing urologic conditions such as kidney stones and prostate conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
  • Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
  • Assist with minor procedures and follow-up care when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care

Required skills

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Eligible for or able to obtain licensure in Vermont
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Prior clinical experience in urology or related specialty is preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
