Overview

Atlas Search is looking for a skilled Urology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a Urology Surgery team in East Setauket, New York. This role involves providing patient care in both preoperative and postoperative settings, working alongside experienced urologists to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including medical history and physical examinations.
  • Collaborate with urologists on surgical interventions.
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures and postoperative care.
  • Assist during surgical procedures while ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Manage intraoperative patient care and monitor vital signs.
  • Support coordination of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
  • Address postoperative complications and concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team on postoperative care plans.
  • Educate patients on postoperative instructions and medications.
  • Provide lifestyle modification information for optimal urological health.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required skills

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Certification in urology or related field (highly desirable)
  • Experience in urology or surgery
  • Fluency in Spanish or Russian
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Commitment to patient-centered care
