Overview

Palm Health Resources is seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for their ICU in Newnan, Georgia. The role involves providing clinical care for oncology patients under the supervision of an Intensivist, with a unique every other week schedule consisting of full-time night shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care for oncology patients in the ICU or step-down unit
  • Record patient medical history and perform physical assessments
  • Develop therapeutic care plans and order diagnostic tests
  • Interpret test results and participate in discharge planning
  • Educate patients on procedures, pharmacology, and self-management of side effects
  • Facilitate communication regarding goals of care, including end-of-life decision making
  • Collaborate with referring physicians, clinicians, and stakeholders
  • Adhere to hospital by-laws, rules, and regulations
  • Prescribe medications and manage treatment evaluations under physician supervision
  • Perform rounds and write progress notes as instructed

Required skills

  • Master's degree in nursing with a specialty in a related field
  • Current Georgia RN license and Georgia Advanced Practice-NP licenses
  • National Board certification (ANCC or AANP)
  • ACLS and BLS certification
  • Strong medical skills in critical situations and triage
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail
