Job Description

Overview

The Overlake School is seeking an Upper School Physics and Engineering Teacher to join their mission-driven community in Redmond, WA. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring educator with a strong background in physics and engineering, tasked with teaching advanced courses and fostering supportive relationships within the school community.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach two sections of AP Physics, one section of Engineering and Design, and one section of Design Thinking
  • Attend school and community events including assemblies and orientations
  • Proctor exams and serve as an advisor/homeroom teacher
  • Participate in Project Week and cover for absent teachers
  • Engage in faculty meetings and professional development
  • Maintain an updated LMS and attend department meetings
  • Sponsor or advise student-led organizations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, or related field
  • Experience in curriculum design and teaching advanced courses
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction
  • Technological proficiency and computer literacy
  • Knowledge of UbD and UDL frameworks
