Overview

The University Risk Manager at the University of Idaho is responsible for leading risk management initiatives, including risk assessment, financing, transfer, and control. This role involves formulating and recommending policies related to risk and insurance management while supervising the Risk Analyst position.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead university risk management initiatives
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify property and liability risk exposures
  • Recommend institutional policies and procedures for risk and insurance management
  • Manage insurance placements and renewals
  • Oversee claims management and loss control processes
  • Administer the Protection of Minors program
  • Supervise the Risk Analyst position
  • Collaborate with the university community on risk management matters

Required skills

  • Three years of experience in risk management or insurance programs
  • Proficiency in information analysis and organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish collaborative working relationships
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel and work nonstandard hours
  • Valid driver's license
