Overview

The Unit Operations Coordinator at Children's Minnesota plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service to families, staff, providers, and visitors in the pediatric emergency department. This position involves answering inquiries, managing phone calls, coordinating patient room deliveries, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment while supporting administrative functions in the unit.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary customer service to families, staff, and visitors
  • Handle first response to phone calls coming into the units
  • Arrange for deliveries to patient rooms and direct visitors
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment
  • Act as a liaison to other departments and provide necessary tools
  • Support patient care and overall administrative functions in the unit
  • Serve as a technology resource for the unit
  • Float to other hospital departments as needed

Required skills

  • High school diploma preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a patient care setting preferred
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Positive attitude and exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, hospital technology systems)
  • Ability to coach others on hospital technology systems
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed, organized, and capable of multitasking
