Overview

As an Underwriter at Triad Financial Services Inc, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting mortgage loan applications to ensure they meet company policies and regulatory guidelines. This role emphasizes accuracy, quality, and customer service, as you assess borrowers' financial profiles and make informed lending decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and analyze mortgage loan applications, credit reports, income documentation, and property appraisals to assess borrower eligibility and loan risk.
  • Evaluate borrowers' financial profiles, including debt-to-income ratio, credit history, and employment stability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines throughout the underwriting process.
  • Communicate lending decisions to Loan Originators, borrowers, and other stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Loan Processors, Loan Originators, and other team members to address conditions and facilitate loan closings.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in underwriting documentation and loan files.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to borrower inquiries and guiding them through the underwriting process.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in mortgage underwriting.

Required skills

  • Minimum of two years of experience in the mortgage industry
  • Familiarity with Encompass software
  • Knowledge of the Manufactured Home Industry
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
