Overview

Join Spectrum as an Underground Construction Technician in Appleton, Wisconsin, where you'll be involved in network construction that includes both aerial and underground projects. This role presents an opportunity to support daily construction activities while traveling and working outdoors in various conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute groundwork tasks such as digging, filling holes and trenches, and burying conduit and cables.
  • Perform aerial installations by pulling lasher, strand, and cable from pole to pole.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with all safety requirements, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Operate and maintain crew equipment and vehicles following safety standards.
  • Travel to assigned territories and company facilities, including overnight stays.

Required skills

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level welcome; training provided.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and software.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and operate a 28-foot, 75-pound ladder.
  • Vision capabilities for close and peripheral viewing.
  • Ability to differentiate wire sizes and colors.
