Overview

Carolina Estate Planning is seeking a Trust & Estate Planning Attorney to join their growing firm in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation and organizational skills, and will be responsible for creating wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, while guiding clients through the estate planning and probate processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist clients by analyzing their needs and strategizing proper courses of action
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are current
  • Create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients
  • Educate clients on options for retirement, charity donations, and insurance purchases
  • Attend court proceedings to represent clients as needed
  • Consult with prospective clients and lead them through the estate planning process
  • Provide expert legal advice and deliver superior estate planning and asset protection work products
  • Research, design, and create customized estate plans
  • Guide clients through the probate process with clear, actionable advice
  • Represent clients in uncontested guardianship and probate hearings
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of client interactions and case progress

Required skills

  • Experience in estate planning and probate law (1-2 years minimum)
  • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree
  • Strong communication skills, especially in stressful and emotional situations
  • Active North Carolina Bar license
  • Experience with WealthDocx and ElderDocx software
  • Five or more years of experience in Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration
  • Knowledge of real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, and property management
  • LL.M. in tax or Estate Planning and Probate Board Certification preferred
