Overview

The Truss Designer at Rival Holdings is responsible for creating detailed plans for roof and floor trusses using Mitek software within the construction industry. This role requires a firm grasp of structural engineering principles, building codes, and the ability to provide excellent customer service while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Create detailed placement plans and truss designs based on customer needs and building codes
  • Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Produce accurate production-ready truss layouts, design drawings, and estimates
  • Support the sales team with exceptional customer service
  • Communicate with customers and sales staff to gather necessary project information
  • Maintain communication with customers and management to meet production deadlines
  • Interface with professional engineers for truss design and repair details
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

Required skills

  • 3 years of experience in roof and floor truss design for residential projects
  • Mitek Software proficiency
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of building codes, wood products, and construction materials and methods
  • Blueprint reading and 3D visualization capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Alpine software
