Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group is seeking a self-motivated Truck Mechanic for their 2nd shift in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks, ensuring compliance with safety standards and state inspection requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Diagnose malfunctions based on job orders and observations
  • Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, and replace batteries and transmissions
  • Replace gas or diesel engines
  • Examine and adjust protective guards and safety devices
  • Lubricate and service vehicles
  • Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments and hydraulic systems
  • Perform collision repair, including sanding, prepping, and painting
  • Complete standard maintenance and ensure inspection requirements are met

Required skills

  • One-year certificate in diesel mechanics or related field OR 2 years of related experience
  • Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer service and teamwork skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Willingness to work a 2nd shift schedule
  • Ability to meet physical requirements for the job
