Overview

The Truck Shop Mechanic at Pilgrim's will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems. This role involves performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with vehicle regulations in a shop environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic testing to determine vehicle condition
  • Perform preventive maintenance and component upgrades
  • Repair, adjust, overhaul, and replace major assemblies and components
  • Conduct machine shop operations and necessary adjustments
  • Verify repairs through test drives and system adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle regulations
  • Maintain vehicle appearance and document all repairs and services
  • Troubleshoot shop equipment and perform preventive maintenance
  • Manage inventory and control costs effectively
  • Engage in continuous improvement and training

Required skills

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systems
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Own tools required
  • CDL required or willingness to obtain within 6 months
