Overview

State Farm is seeking a Trial Attorney to join their Claim Litigation office in Summit, New Jersey. This role involves case ownership, collaboration with other attorneys, and participation in various litigation events. State Farm values self-starters who can think strategically and creatively while maintaining a focus on client service and legal excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle litigation and legal assignments according to Law Department guidelines
  • Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings
  • Develop trial strategies and case management
  • Attend trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings

Required skills

  • 2+ years litigation experience in insurance defense, personal injury, or medical malpractice
  • Knowledge of local and state discovery rules and trial procedures
  • Experience with trial, mediation, and depositions
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Technology and software experience
  • Working knowledge of Case Management and Document Storage systems
  • J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School
  • Active law license to practice in New Jersey
