Overview

State Farm is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to join their Claim litigation team in Portland, Oregon. The role involves managing litigation cases, participating in trials and mediations, and collaborating with clients and team members. This hybrid position requires some in-office work and aims to provide high-quality legal services in a cost-effective manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle litigation and legal assignments per Law Department guidelines
  • Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings
  • Participate in litigation events including trials, mediations, and depositions
  • Develop trial strategy and case management
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff

Required skills

  • 8+ years of civil litigation experience in Oregon
  • Extensive jury trial experience
  • Knowledge of local and state discovery rules and trial procedures
  • Trial, mediation, and deposition expertise
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Case Management and Document Storage systems
  • J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School
  • Active law licenses for Oregon and Washington
