Overview

Voca Healthcare is seeking an experienced travel nurse RN for the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) unit in Austin, Texas. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a high volume hospital setting, focusing on the postoperative and post-procedure phases of patient care, and involves managing pain and anticipating specific surgical needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' responses to treatment and interventions
  • Manage pain according to American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) standards
  • Anticipate surgical and procedural specific needs
  • Function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Provide care in a 28 bed PACU unit
  • Work a 10-hour day shift, weekdays from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM

Required skills

  • RN license
  • 3+ years of experience in Perioperative Care
  • BLS and ALS certification
  • Clinical patient care skills
  • Ability to work independently
