Overview

The Transportation Specialist at Netafim Irrigation Inc. is responsible for reviewing and coordinating the company's transportation requirements to meet customer needs and transportation objectives. This role focuses on optimizing freight costs, managing inbound and outbound shipments, and ensuring effective communication between shippers and freight carriers.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface for transportation activities focusing on inbound shipments.
  • Develop, maintain, and review transportation reports.
  • Optimize freight costs by selecting appropriate carriers.
  • Create inbound and outbound freight schedules in coordination with carriers and shipping coordinators.
  • Process freight estimates, claims, and customer returns efficiently.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements for transportation operations.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of APICS and TMS preferred.
  • Fluent in English, with Spanish-speaking ability preferred.
  • Proficiency in distribution/warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, particularly WM and basic SD.
  • Strong Excel skills for reporting functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of transportation systems and international shipping.
