Job Description

Overview

Boise State University is seeking a Transportation Facilities Support Specialist to join their Public Safety Team. This role involves hands-on maintenance, repair of electronic devices, and the design and fabrication of signage, contributing directly to the safety and accessibility of the campus.

Key responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain parking equipment and electronic devices
  • Install and maintain signs, poles, and parking lot infrastructure
  • Stripe parking lots and paint curbs and traffic markings
  • Operate maintenance equipment, power tools, and snow removal equipment
  • Maintain shuttle stop shelters and transportation facilities
  • Support seasonal maintenance and campus events
  • Ensure customer service for the entire Department and campus community
  • Engage in departmental problem-solving
  • Plan and coordinate special administrative projects and assignments
  • Represent the Department in working groups and committees

Required skills

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing electronic components
  • Mechanical repair experience with small engines
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including repair and maintenance
  • Experience using power tools and standard hand tools
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Possession of a current and valid Driver's License
