Overview

The Transportation Coordinator at Harmon Scrap Metal LLC is responsible for scheduling customer pickups and deliveries, while ensuring high-quality customer service and efficient routing of drivers. This role involves compliance with company policies and DOT regulations, along with providing support in transportation operations and inventory management.

Key responsibilities

  • Schedule customer pickups and deliveries
  • Route drivers efficiently to maximize profit
  • Communicate assignments via radio, CB, and telephone
  • Compile statistics and reports on work progress
  • Assist with scale operations and evaluate incoming products
  • Monitor inventory and contract positions
  • Attend internal meetings and training sessions

Required skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office 365
  • Understanding of company policy, FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Logistics industry knowledge
  • Knowledge of scrap metal recycling industry
  • CDL and cdl knowledge preferred
