Overview

The Trailer/Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnostic and repair services on the company's tractors and trailers. This role involves utilizing diagnostic equipment, performing maintenance, and ensuring repairs are done to manufacturer specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic and repair services for tractors and trailers.
  • Use vehicle's computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes.
  • Perform service calls on emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct comprehensive maintenance and preventative maintenance on various company-owned assets.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, clutches, and other systems according to manufacturer specifications.

Required skills

  • 1-3 years experience as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic or technician.
  • Diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with refrigeration units and heavy-duty transmissions.
  • Time management and customer service skills.
  • Class A CDL and PA State class 7 inspection license preferred.
