Overview

Trailer Tech One is seeking an experienced Trailer Builder/Mechanic to join their team in Erie, Michigan. The role involves building, installing, and servicing various trailer systems, including hydraulic systems and custom components, for high-performance transport solutions in the automotive industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and assemble custom car trailers
  • Install and service hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, and valves
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Perform trailer wiring and lighting installation
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams
  • Ensure trailers meet DOT and FMCSA safety standards
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and upgrades on trailers
  • Collaborate with the fabrication and production team

Required skills

  • Experience with hydraulics
  • Trailer building or mechanic experience
  • Mechanical, fabrication, and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of DOT trailer regulations and compliance
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, winches, trailer wiring, and air brake systems
  • Welding and fabrication skills
