Job Description

Overview

The Traffic Signals Installer at E-Z Bel Construction is responsible for assembling, wiring, and installing traffic signal systems and related equipment based on engineered specifications. This role demands technical skill and physical stamina as work is performed outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret intersection layouts and engineered schematics
  • Install and wire traffic signal heads and detection devices per specifications
  • Pull, route, and splice overhead and underground wires maintaining color coding
  • Assemble and install signal poles and related hardware
  • Install and configure detection systems and controllers
  • Operate bucket trucks and aerial lifts to position traffic signals
  • Perform voltage, continuity, and signal testing using diagnostic tools
  • Follow safety protocols and company standards for electrical work
  • Maintain organization of wiring in cabinets and junction boxes
  • Document installations and report any discrepancies or hazards
  • Perform traffic control and flagging duties as necessary
  • Assist with material management and loading/unloading tasks

Required skills

  • 1-5 years of experience in traffic signal installation or electrical work
  • Ability to read construction drawings and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of MUTCD, OSHA, and TxDOT standards preferred
  • Skilled in using bucket trucks and aerial lifts safely
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work at heights
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving status
