Overview

RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Control Technician in Greenville, South Carolina. The role involves ensuring safety on roadways through the setup and removal of traffic control devices, while operating company vehicles and following safety protocols. The position includes aspects of transportation, equipment operation, and direct involvement in traffic management projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and take down lane closures on state highways and other roadways
  • Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews
  • Assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites
  • Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites
  • Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to and from projects
  • Place temporary construction signs and set up traffic safety devices
  • Monitor the work zone to ensure safety items remain in proper locations
  • Collect and load traffic control items at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment

Required skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1-3 years of experience in traffic control with 2,000 field hours
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug tests
  • Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Basic reading and writing skills for compliance with road signs and paperwork
  • Ability to read and implement traffic control plans
  • Familiarity with local roadways and experience operating delivery vehicles
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Completion of ATSSA TCT intermediate training course
  • Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends as needed
  • Rotating on-call availability
  • Mechanical background/experience (preferred)
