Job Description

Overview

RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Control Technician in Buda, Texas, responsible for setting up and dismantling traffic control projects to ensure safety on roadways. The ideal candidate will work independently or with a crew to manage lane closures and maintain safety equipment as part of RoadSafe's national traffic safety services.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and take down lane closures on highways and roadways
  • Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews
  • Operate company trucks and vehicles to transport materials and equipment
  • Place temporary construction signs and position safety devices in work areas
  • Monitor work zones and ensure proper placement of traffic control items
  • Install, remove, and reset signs, posts, and supports
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Adhere to safety rules and company policies
  • Complete other work-related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1-3 years of traffic control experience with 2,000 field hours
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug tests
  • Basic reading and writing skills for compliance with road signs and paperwork
  • Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Ability to read and implement traffic control plans
  • Familiarity with state and local roadways
  • Experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Completion of ATSSA TCT intermediate training course
  • Willingness to travel and work nights and weekends
  • Mechanical background/experience (preferred)
