Overview

The Traffic Control Technician at RoadSafe Traffic Systems is responsible for setting up and dismantling lane closures to ensure the safety of traffic control projects. This role involves managing traffic during construction or survey operations, operating company vehicles, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and take down lane closures on state highways and roadways
  • Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews
  • Transport materials and equipment to job sites using company trucks
  • Drive traffic management vehicles to and from projects
  • Place temporary construction signs and set up traffic safety devices
  • Monitor the work zone for safety compliance
  • Load and unload traffic control items at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Install and maintain traffic signs, posts, and supports
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations

Required skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1-3 years of experience and 2000 field hours in traffic control
  • Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Ability to read and implement traffic control plans
  • Experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Completion of ATSSA TCT intermediate training course
  • Mechanical background/experience (preferred)
