Job Description

Overview

The Traffic Control Technician at RoadSafe Traffic Systems is responsible for setting up and dismantling lane closures while ensuring the safety of traffic control projects. This role involves working independently or as part of a crew to redirect traffic, transport materials and equipment, and monitor work zones on state highways.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and take down lane closures
  • Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews
  • Assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites
  • Operate company trucks and vehicles, including MOT and TMA vehicles
  • Place and monitor traffic safety devices in work areas
  • Perform maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Follow safety rules and regulations
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures

Required skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1-3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug tests
  • Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Completion of ATSSA TCT intermediate training course
  • Mechanical background/experience (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel and work rotating on-call schedule
