Job Description

Overview

The Traffic Control Technician at RoadSafe Traffic Systems is responsible for setting up and managing lane closures to ensure the safety of traffic control projects. This role involves operating company vehicles to transport materials, redirecting traffic, and assembling safety products at various job sites across the state.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and take down lane closures on highways and roadways
  • Operate company trucks and MOT vehicles for material transport
  • Place and maintain temporary construction signs and safety devices
  • Monitor work zones and ensure proper placement of equipment
  • Collect and load traffic control items
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures

Required skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1-3 years of traffic control experience with 2,000 field hours
  • Ability to pass background and drug tests
  • Basic reading and writing skills for compliance and paperwork
  • Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Ability to read and implement traffic control plans
  • Experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes
  • Physical capability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Completion of ATSSA TCT intermediate training course
  • Willingness to travel statewide and work nights and weekends
  • Mechanical background/experience (preferred)
