RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Control Technician based in Charleston, South Carolina. The role involves ensuring the safety of traffic control projects by setting up and taking down lane closures, redirecting traffic, and working independently or with a crew. Key responsibilities

  • Set up and take down lane closures on state highways and other roadways
  • Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews
  • Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites
  • Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to ensure safety on work sites
  • Place temporary construction signs and safety devices in work areas
  • Monitor work zones throughout the shift
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Adhere to safety rules and company policies

Required skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1-3 years of traffic control experience with at least 2,000 field hours
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Ability to read plans and implement traffic control plans
  • Experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Completion of ATSSA TCT intermediate training course
  • Mechanical background/experience (preferred)
