Job Description

Overview

The Traffic Control Supervisor at RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc is responsible for designing, setting up, and maintaining traffic control in work zones. This role involves supervising teams, utilizing traffic control devices, and ensuring safety compliance while monitoring road repairs.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites
  • Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to projects to protect workers and work zones
  • Place temporary construction signs, arrow boards, and variable message boards in work areas
  • Set up traffic cones and other safety devices in work areas
  • Monitor the work zone throughout the shift to ensure proper placement of items
  • Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, and supports
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Follow safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 2+ years of experience and 4,000 field hours in traffic control
  • Completion of ATSSA TCS intermediate training course
  • Ability to pass background and motor vehicle records check
  • Ability to pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements
  • Basic reading and writing skills for paperwork and road signs
  • Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Ability to read plans and implement traffic control plans
  • Knowledge of state and local roadways
  • Experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Willingness to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays
  • Availability for rotating on-call schedule
