Job Description

Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Trade Exports Specialist for U.S. Licensing in Waterdown, Ontario. This role involves preparing agreements to support international business initiatives and ensuring compliance with export regulations. The specialist will establish relationships with government licensing authorities and provide guidance to stakeholders while conducting training and audits.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare agreements in accordance with federal regulations for international business
  • Interpret governmental responses and provide guidance to stakeholders
  • Establish relations with government licensing authorities
  • Analyze business initiatives per regulatory requirements
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance
  • Develop and conduct audits of internal controls and procedures
  • Support external audits from governmental control agencies
  • Draft and submit U.S. export license applications
  • Track licensing priorities with internal stakeholders
  • Monitor and release blocked shipments as required
  • Support management of Technical Assistance Agreements and distribution agreements
  • Validate export classification and jurisdiction of items
  • Conduct Restricted Party Screening for business partners
  • Assist with trade compliance investigations and audits

Required skills

  • Knowledge of L3Harris products and export control status
  • Working knowledge of ITAR and EAR Export Control Regulations
  • High-level knowledge of EIPA, CGP, DPA, and jurisdiction analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to perform research in technical and regulatory environments
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to comprehend detailed laws
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and results-oriented attitude
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field
