Overview

Koch Trucking is seeking a Diesel Technician II for its Minneapolis location to perform advanced preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and complex repairs on tractor and trailer units. This role requires adherence to DOT and company standards while providing on-the-job training to junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and advanced repairs on tractors and trailers
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, state, federal, and company standards
  • Troubleshoot and repair powertrain, driveline, suspension, steering, braking, and electrical systems
  • Complete repairs using hand tools, jacks, hoists, and specialized equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage inventory
  • Provide on-the-job training to junior technicians and helpers
  • Make warranty recommendations and document all work accurately

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of tractor maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and maintenance documentation
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
  • Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • ABS brake system certification
  • Eligibility for Minnesota State DOT inspector certification
