Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Toxicology Technologist to join our team at the Halsey Lab in Portland, OR.Work Schedule: Casual/Per DiemJob DescriptionDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteriasupport ongoing operational tasks: Inventory, ordering, QC/Calibrator lot conversionsPredominantly focusing on MMA extraction and testingPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating ProceduresMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controlsReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient carePerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessaryAssist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipmentMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology1 yearor moreof clinical laboratory testing experience OR anMLS degreePreferred Qualifications:ASCP or AMT certification1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in ToxicologyAdditional Job Standards:High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitaskAbility to work independently and within a team environmentAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime as neededExceptional customer serviceStrong communication skills; both written and verbalComfortable working under minimal supervisionBenefits:Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
