Overview

The Tower Maintenance Technician II at Mercury Fiber is responsible for building and servicing tower sites in Lapeer County, Michigan. This full-time position requires adherence to safety guidelines and installation procedures while troubleshooting network issues and performing mechanical tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Use provided safety gear while working at heights up to 300ft
  • Install broadband equipment at Mercury tower sites
  • Represent the company professionally
  • Assist with new tower site construction
  • Troubleshoot broadband tower equipment
  • Resolve network outages
  • Perform installation and tuning of Microwave Dishes and Radios
  • Be on call to troubleshoot network outages as needed

Required skills

  • Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, and towers up to 300'
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Follow cabling procedures for wiring towers
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • 2+ years of tower hand experience (preferred)
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified (preferred)
  • Authorized Climber and Rescue trained (preferred)
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license
