Job Description

Overview

The Toolmaker III position at Strohwig Industries Inc involves developing and optimizing advanced tooling solutions critical to manufacturing processes. This role requires extensive experience in designing, fabricating, and maintaining complex tools, dies, and molds while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications to determine tooling needs.
  • Utilize CAD software to create 2D and 3D models of tooling components.
  • Direct and mentor Toolmaker Is and IIs on daily tasks.
  • Operate precision machine tools, including CNC machines and lathes.
  • Perform inspections using advanced metrology equipment to ensure quality.
  • Assemble and test tooling components for functionality and specifications.
  • Lead teams in optimizing tooling designs and collaborate with various departments.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop preventative maintenance programs for tooling assets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to design and maintenance.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Toolmaker.
  • 5+ years of experience with molds and dies.
  • Proficient in CAD software and mechanical tools.
  • Ability to use shop mathematics and read blueprints.
  • Experience with hydraulic lines and water circuits.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
