Overview

Kinperium-Hiniker LLC is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join their manufacturing operations in Mankato, Minnesota. The role involves creating precision tools used in the manufacturing process, including tasks related to grinding, turning, and milling materials, as well as assisting in the design of parts using CAD software.

Key responsibilities

  • Create precision tools to support manufacturing processes
  • Machine grinding, turning, and milling of materials for parts and jigs
  • Assist in CAD design of parts and jigs, interpreting blueprints
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Communicate effectively across departments
  • Perform maintenance on tools and machinery
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow 5S principles

Required skills

  • Proficient in reading and using precision measuring instruments
  • Experience operating toolroom equipment
  • Skilled in CAD/CAM software, particularly SolidWorks
  • Ability to program CNC and manually operated toolroom equipment
  • Experience with tight tolerances and troubleshooting tooling issues
  • Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • High school diploma or GED, with a Technical Trade School or associated degree in Machine Tool Technology
  • 3-5 years of tool and die making experience
