Overview

Hi-Tek Manufacturing Inc. is seeking an experienced Tool/Fixture Maker for its 1st shift operations in Mason, Ohio. The role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining various machine shop components, requiring advanced skills in tool making and a focus on precision in a high-quality manufacturing environment for aviation and power generation turbine engine parts.

Key responsibilities

  • Construct, repair, maintain, and calibrate machine shop dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Operate various machine tools including Knee Mills, 3-5 axis mills, lathes, surface grinders, and saws.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings.
  • Select appropriate raw materials and machine processes to meet specifications.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpieces using precision measuring equipment.
  • Document actions in the ERP system.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Engineering and Management.

Required skills

  • Proficient in operating toolroom machines.
  • Good technical math skills (geometry, trigonometry, shop math).
  • Previous tool maker experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace.
  • Experience with AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation.
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
