Overview

Xinquan Texas Automotive Interiors is looking for a highly skilled Tool and Die Technician to join their new facility in Austin, Texas. This role centers on the maintenance, repair, and modification of tooling, including injection molds, with a focus on precision machining and TIG welding.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose, disassemble, and repair complex injection molds and their internal components.
  • Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, and grinders for tool fabrication or modification.
  • Perform high-precision TIG welding on aluminum and carbon-based tool steels.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to support production and develop sustainable solutions for tooling failures.
  • Interpret blueprints and conduct inspections using precision instruments to ensure product consistency.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to manage heavy molds and tooling.
  • Assist with troubleshooting during production to ensure smooth operations.
  • Document shop activities, including equipment setup and maintenance records.

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience in tool and die making, specifically in injection molding environments.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding and manual machining.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fluid power systems.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and following safety protocols.
