Job Description

Overview

The Tool and Die Maker at Pro Resources Professional will be responsible for maintaining, reworking, and fabricating dies and tools to meet production requirements. This position requires collaboration with various departments and participation in design and planning for new tooling and refurbishment.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain existing dies and perform changeovers
  • Fabricate and rework dies and tools for production
  • Collaborate with tool room, production, engineering, and quality departments
  • Plan and layout work according to specifications
  • Select appropriate materials, tools, and processes
  • Operate tool and die maker tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Evaluate and repair dies to meet specifications
  • Document information and procedures related to tools
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Participate in 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Follow safety and environmental guidelines

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience with and troubleshooting dies
  • Fully qualified completion of apprenticeship or required hours
  • Ability to read blueprints and die support documentation
  • Experience with standard tool room machinery such as drill presses and grinders
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 & ISO 14001 procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
