Job Description

Overview

Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. is seeking full-time Toddler Teachers for their Danbury Early Learning Programs. The role involves planning and implementing educational activities for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years, with a focus on promoting their social, physical, and intellectual growth in a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and implement weekly lesson plans for a classroom of 8 toddlers
  • Collaborate with a co-teacher to support student learning
  • Document observations using Teaching Strategies Gold and Creative Curriculum
  • Enhance language development using LENA technology
  • Communicate child routines with parents via Procare Software and Remind messaging
  • Receive support from a classroom aid and Family Advocate
  • Participate in coaching and curriculum support from education coaches

Required skills

  • CDA Certification or 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Psychology (preferred)
  • Ability to pass the State of CT Office of Early Childhood Background Check
  • 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
  • 1 year of childcare experience (preferred)
  • Bilingual ability encouraged
