Job Description

Overview

St. Vincent de Paul Georgia is looking for a Thrift Store Manager to oversee the operations of a nonprofit thrift store. The manager will be tasked with driving revenue to support the organization's mission while leading a team of staff and volunteers. This position reports to the Senior Director of Operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct and monitor store operations to drive revenue growth and meet sales and budget goals
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage paid staff and volunteers
  • Develop effective pricing and merchandise rotation strategies
  • Ensure proper handling of cash and credit transactions
  • Manage daily sales tracking, bank deposits, and income reports
  • Create appealing displays for products
  • Provide excellent customer service and address customer complaints

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
  • Previous retail management experience
  • Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of accounting and strong mathematical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
  • Experience with point of sale and inventory systems
  • Experience working with volunteers in a nonprofit setting
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
