Overview

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join their team at the Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi, a leading acute care facility. The role involves evaluating and administering treatments for patients with speech and hearing disorders, utilizing a range of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

  • Examine and test patients for speech and hearing disorders
  • Evaluate patients for therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation
  • Document test results and recommend remedial treatment
  • Maintain communication with patients regarding their progress
  • Assist with the direction and evaluation of supportive staff and volunteers
  • Interpret and carry out physician prescriptions
  • Perform diverse duties as requested

Required skills

  • Degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program
  • Texas Speech Language Pathologist License or eligibility for licensure
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Strong communication and rehabilitation techniques
  • Experience in patient evaluation (new graduates accepted)
