Job Description

Overview

The Physical Therapist at CHRISTUS Health is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and implementing care for patients in an acute care setting. This role requires adherence to the Physical Therapy Practice Act and involves providing technical therapy care, managing equipment and interventions, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Gathers pertinent data from patient charts and other caregivers
  • Independently assesses all patient types as assigned
  • Recognizes additional needs during evaluations and exercises good judgment in decision making
  • Interprets results and formulates measurable and attainable goals
  • Reassesses patient progress regularly per department and regulatory policy
  • Identifies appropriate equipment and discusses options with patients and families

Required skills

  • Doctorate preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • LPT License in state of employment required
  • BLS certification required
