Job Description

Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) position at AMN Healthcare is focused on providing one-on-one rehabilitative care to patients in their homes throughout Forest Hill and the surrounding areas. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist patients in improving mobility and restoring function, while ensuring continuity and quality of care through regular communication with an interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform therapeutic exercises and activities for functional mobility
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and report changes
  • Make recommendations for home safety modifications
  • Complete scheduled visits and document care in an electronic medical record system
  • Travel between patient residences to provide care
  • Participate in case conferences and joint visits with experienced clinicians

Required skills

  • 1 year experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • PTA Compact License
  • Homecare Homebase documentation knowledge preferred
  • Strong patient communication skills
  • Understanding of therapeutic exercises and rehabilitative care
