Overview

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for Home Health in Forest Hill, Maryland. In this role, you will provide hands-on rehabilitative care to patients in their homes, working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help individuals restore function and improve their mobility.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one rehabilitative care in home settings
  • Carry out established plans of care under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Perform therapeutic exercises, balance and gait training, and functional mobility activities
  • Instruct patients and caregivers in home exercise programs
  • Make recommendations for home safety modifications and durable medical equipment
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Travel between patient residences to complete scheduled visits
  • Document care using an electronic medical record system
  • Communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary team

Required skills

  • Physical Therapist Assistant license
  • 1 year of home health experience
  • Knowledge of therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation techniques
  • Experience with Homecare Homebase documentation preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently in home settings
