Overview

AMN Healthcare is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a Lawrenceville, VA school district, providing essential services to children of all ages. The role involves addressing motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions that impact students' academic and social participation.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with the school district as part of a collaborative team to help students achieve academic goals.
  • Screen and evaluate students referred to Occupational Therapy.
  • Collect data and report findings appropriately.
  • Provide evidence-based direct and consultative therapy services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and billing according to district and state standards.
  • Provide training and resources for teachers and staff on strategies to enhance student participation.
  • Maintain clear communication with teachers, district staff, and families regarding student performance.

Required skills

  • Occupational Therapist license in Virginia
  • Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Clear and articulate communication skills
  • Ability to explain results to various audiences
  • Initial certification through NBCOT (preferred)
  • Experience in a school setting (preferred)
  • Completion of a criminal record and background check
