The Pavilion and North Tower housea state-of-the-artemergency department, ICU, Cardiac CathLaband surgical suitesA teaching facility in affiliation with the Texas A&M University System Health and Science Center College of MedicineAccredited Chest Pain CenterAccredited Joint Commission Stroke Team Summary:Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs in a variety of sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to their handicaps. Teaches patient skills and techniques required for participation in activities. Studies and evaluates patient's reactions to the program and prepares progress reports.Responsibilities:Responsible for the utilization and supervision of volunteers, students, support staff, and assistants relating to the provision of occupational therapy services.Responsible for interpretation/implementation of physician orders, provision of safe care to customers, protection of confidential information, professional communication, economic use of time/resources, and creation of a positive work/therapy environment.Performs other diverse duties as requested.Requirements:EducationGraduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy; Masters degree requiredKnowledgeable of the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics and the Guide to Occupational Therapy Practice.Excellent communication skillsExperienceNew graduates accepted; experience preferredLicenses, Registrations, or CertificationsCurrent license by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy ExaminersCPR - American Heart AssociationBLSWork Schedule:5 Days - 8 HoursWork Type: Full Time
