Overview

VieMed Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their outpatient team in Alpena, MI. This full-time, permanent role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on patients' lives through personalized therapy services in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments and patient goals
  • Document treatment regimes and patient progress accurately
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about treatment options
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to enhance patient function
  • Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapist Assistants and students
  • Recommend and facilitate procurement of adaptive equipment for patients
  • Serve as a case manager coordinating interdisciplinary care
  • Participate in team conferences and community outreach
  • Contribute to program development and quality enhancement initiatives

Required skills

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license for Michigan
  • Experience in outpatient therapy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare documentation and billing procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and healthcare technology
