Job Description

Overview

As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant at CHRISTUS Health, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care activities within a pediatric therapy setting. Your role involves collaborating with clinical associates, documenting care, delivering treatment, and ensuring communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Document progress notes and treatments according to departmental policies and goals.
  • Deliver treatment to referred patients based on clinical protocols.
  • Implement optimal patient care for assigned caseload efficiently.
  • Perform accurate charge entry and document treatment and equipment provided.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and identify communication barriers.
  • Develop, educate, and instruct patients on safe exercises during treatment sessions.
  • Promote educational growth through attending in-services and meetings.
  • Assist in preparing patients and families for discharge.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and addressing environment of care concerns.
