Job Description

Overview

AMN Healthcare is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a Newark, DE school district, providing essential services to children of all ages. The OT will focus on improving students' motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions to support their academic and social development.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with the district as part of a collaborative team to support student academic goals.
  • Screen and evaluate students referred to Occupational Therapy.
  • Collect data and report findings accurately.
  • Provide evidence-based direct and consultative therapy services.
  • Maintain documentation and billing according to district and state standards.
  • Train teachers and staff on strategies to enhance student participation and progress.
  • Communicate clearly with teachers, district staff, and families regarding student performance.

Required skills

  • Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Active Occupational Therapy (OT) license in Delaware
  • Initial certification through NBCOT (preferred)
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to explain therapy results to a varied audience
  • Previous school experience (preferred)
  • Completion of a criminal record and background check
