Overview

The Territory Manager at Carter Machinery will oversee the rental and sale of new and used machines and allied equipment within the assigned territory. This sales role focuses on building relationships with existing customers and prospecting new clients, while also developing actionable plans to drive sales performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the rental and sale of machines and dealer services within the assigned territory.
  • Service existing customers with regular visits and prospect for new clients.
  • Develop and execute effective action plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Negotiate and close deals successfully.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Travel frequently for customer engagements.

Required skills

  • Previous outside sales experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Strong customer satisfaction and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent negotiation and closing abilities
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong PC skills and adaptability to technology changes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good driving record
